Thanks both, I know nothing about what shops or sites to look at. I think I will give the original site linked a try then. I am in no major rush to get a card but just wanted to know if they where safe.

The DSTWO sounds like its a huge step up in tech from my basic old R4 Revolution.

In the end I have gone with http://www.zhuzhuchina.com/

cardsnds paypal did not work. Checkout ends with a 404 error before linking to pp.

i heard iEDGE card is the most durable thick card with plastic between the pins like a real ds game, wanted to know if anyone tried taking a supercard two inards and fit them in the edge card case, i want a supercard that is sturdy, heard sctwo has a cheap feeling card.

Sounds like contact issues. Go ahead and try it on their DS, it should tell you whether it's the connection between the DSTWO & DS or the MicroSD & DSTWO.

I bought the DSTWO from lightake, so I think that's reliable source.

I've tried the card for less than an hour.
Now the card is like going crazy, won't work any more.

I'm using a DSi console with 1.14A system.

The DSTWO has 1.12Beta firmware I believe.
EOS is 1.11

Problem: Most of the time boot up the console , it just shows there's no card inserted at all. 80%

5% Very few time it will show the alex rider icon, but start that will show the fck an error has occurred message.

5% Fewer time it could actually started fine to play games.
And even the game starts, sometime the console will say the card has been unplugged

Is this supposed to happen? Wouldn't expect an much expensive card would work like this !

Please help.

Don't post the same question twice or you'll get booted.

In ALL cases it is always a good idea to update the DS2 Firmware BEFORE updating your DSi or 3DS firmware, otherwisr you'll have to find some1 with a DSlite/DSPhat

First make sure there's a new firmware for the DS2 that bypasses any DSi/3DS firmware updates - it's pointless updating to latest DS2 firmware & find it STILL doesn't work when you update your DSi/3DS

... Update the Firmware on the DS2 - simply copy over a file to the MicroSD, switch on & it should find it & ask if you want to update the DSTwo

... Check that it works on the 3DS/DSi older firmware - I've not had any problems, but I have read it MIGHT not work first time

... THEN finally update your DSi/3DS to the latest firmware

The DSi can be used for updating too, it only needs the files on the SD card to be updated to bypass new blocks, as opposed to the 3DS, which needs a full firmware upgrade.

The latest DSTWO firmware is compatible with the latest 3DS update btw (3.0.0-5).

Depends on if the shop that you buy from does it or not, check to see if they do.

Yes, 1.13 is the latest firmware.

Newer DSTWO firmwares still work with older versions of the 3DS' firmware, so yes.

So I'm hoping this is the right spot, don't see why not.

Anyways, I just need a little clarification. When I play a DSTWO in my 3DS, I know it won't break. But does it keep a log of it in the Daily thing? And what would it show up as if it did? I would assume it shows up as the game the card is pretending to be...right?

I haven't tried mine as such as I have a DSiXL that I use for my supercard use (and an ezflash IV for my GBA stuff on a GBASP) but people have checked their logs and yes the supercard does show up as whatever the card pretends to be.

I have a question: when playing only DS games with the SCDS2 without using any of the internal CPU-powered features (such as save-states or slow-mo), will the battery last more, or will it still keep powering the internal CPU even though I'm not using the features?

Whether you use it or not, electricity follows a circuit in a loop. Provided they added extra junk to make a tiny little switch inside or some other method to bridge over the CPU at choice times, then yes, but as it is no, your power is being burned for the livelihood of your gaming.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
