a) can i purchase one without the SuperCard, and
b) can you transfer save files/create ROMs from LEGIT versions of games onto the comp using it?

Thanks in Gameboy Advance XD

OH I SEE. well I thought maybe the SuperCard (http://www.gamersection.ca/product_info.php?cPath=30_35&products_id=886) [see pic] had the thing for DS games so you could make your own ROMs/transfer save files to comp, then you would have the games but could trade them in.

It only provides power to the DSONEi. It doesn't connect the USB data points to any points on the supercard.
And next time, please state which Supercard DS you're talking about; there were three different ones made.

Right, that device is ONLY for updating the firmware on the cart, and it's done this way so that you can upgrade the firmware even if you can't run the SCDSi anymore (for instance, if the DSi gets an update that blocks the SCDSi and you already upgraded the DSi). It only uses USB for power, so I imagine it would work if you plugged it into a wall outlet adapter as well.
