Use verbatim dvd+r dl.

and make sure you have 1.9g firmware wiikey.
otherwise edit the main.dol.

No - i used verbatim singapore and burned at 2.4 x.. it isnt a bad burn.. there is something wrong with the disc / wiikey

rodak - that guy didnt even look at the stuff in the main.dol. First off.. 0X1F2293 does not exist in it.. second off.. there is no 0c to change in 0X1F2293

I saw that too.
So for Wiikey owners that don't have 1.9g firmware and encounter the 001 error and use GOOD media... there is still no solution.

I think you should change at the offset 0x1F2293 0x0C to 0x04.
On the other hand you could give my brand new patcher a shot

I'm really surprised! There I was, having collected all the info + files and now it seems I can just brickblock the game and I'm done!!!!!

Yes, I did the "15% power down" trick, so basically I'm done.

That would be awesome.

Is there any need to specifically set the layer break in IMGBurn?

I burnt the JAP SSBB Caravan (DVD9) release in IMGBurn without changing any settings and that just worked. I have read that some modchips require the layer break to be specifically set, while other just work.

I have a wiikey running v1.9g for reference.

So after all this is done, and we've done the patchthingie for the 001 error, do we still brickblock it? Or is the whole point to not have to brickblock it?

I'm using a PAL Wii (3.2E) with a WiiKey (1.9g). Here's what I did: -

1. Replace the __update.inf file with the patched ProphSSBB.inf using Trucha Signer and sign both partitions - no need to rename the patched inf file, as it renames itself.
2. Change the region to PAL with RegionFrii (optional, I guess).
3. Burn at 2.4X (the disc's rated speed) on Verbatim DVD+R DL using ImgBurn with the layer break setting on "Calculate optimal".

The game works fine so far and I have no duplicate channels.

Thanks to Phil :: CSF for setting these up.

Also, it may be necessary to extract the __update.inf off the iso before replacing it with mine (Prophssbb.inf) Otherwise some people run into a code 6 error within the signer.
