Some guy over on the Wiinja forums said the original works on his US Wii with Wiinja Deluxe.

No word from any PAL users yet.

Buying the game doesn't give you the liberty to download the copy and play it on your Wii. You're still a pirate. You're playing every other game for free and scene doesn't work for you. What exactly the scene gains from this? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING !!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm also trying to get this game and play it asap, and I bought the game too. But at least I'm not complaining.
