Still a day until this launches in Australia, but I guess the amount of content in this game doesn't appear to be as lacking as 3D Land was.

I suppose 100% players like me would also go for beating every level with every character, thus multiplying its longevity by 5.

aargh, my amazon.co.uk preorder that was supposed to be delivered on release day (today) didn't turn up :-/

only local (nice going ninty...)

finally got this today as usual were LAST to get it  played it for about hour and half and already in world 3 :P

2 damn days this lasted. that's mario and zelda both short with hardly no content. this is WHY nintendo are losing this gen. 1st the wii-u has no gaemz and when it does they don't last!

Nintendo thinks they can cheap out content-wise when the game is just a play on nostalgia. Take all the NSMB games and 3D Land, for example.
At least with the Zelda games they are trying to better themselves by "changing the conventions", but Mario's been taking steps backward since 2006.

Bought the game on release, 13-11-29 and as of 13-12-01 i have 2 levels which i havent 100% yet :(

Don´t get me wrong, the game IS amazing and i don´t regret buying the game but i can´t help feeling a little angry because it was so short...
Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 felt like they lasted longer than this :(

Yeah. It may have taken me under a day to complete Galaxy 2 but at least it wasn't 5 HOURS like it was with 3D World.

Most people don't play as intensely as you. I will never be able to finish this game. It will get difficult for me near the end. It will start to take over an hour just to get one or two stars, and I won't be able to get to the last level. I never completed Galaxy 2. I got to around 110 stars or so then it got too hard. For 3D World, I haven't even finished the first 3 worlds yet. I made it to 4, didn't play 4, don't have all the stars. I can't stay in the mood to play for that long, especially if I am not sober. If not sober, the games get even harder. You play for over 5 hours straight? Most people probably only play an hour at a time, and even then, maybe just once or twice a week. The only games that I like to play for that much at a time are Skyward sword and the Paper Mario games. Are you cheating? Looking up the star locations? Some are very hard to find if you don't cheat. 3D Land was too easy, 3D World is just right. If Nintendo catered to the experts like you, they wouldn't be able to sell to normal people.

Plus the game has multiplayer. You can play it over and over again when you have people over.

And yes, I want Galaxy 3, but that would take them at least another 2 years to develop properly.

No, I'm not cheating. And I didn't play it for 5 hours straight, it took me 5 hours of gameplay in total.

Is this supposed to be a literal time to completion?

If you don´t care about getting 3 green stars, the stamp and a yellow flag then i guess 5 hours sounds resonable (if you aren´t crap at the game)

Again, i bet you dont have all the green stars?

I have all Green Stars and Stamps up to World Bowser. I haven't really tackled the Special Worlds yet.

Q: Multiplayer ?
A: yes, local. max 4 players on the same screen. online only with ghosts from other players. (which is distracting for me)

Q: Compare to Mario 64 / Galaxy ?
A: No, its less 3 dimensional then the above titles. most of the time you see the gameplay from the side, as being 2d, but you can walk into the depth of the screen which is awesome.

Q: Easy to complete? Not enough gameplay?
A: Completing this game for me means all stars , all stamps and all end level flags. (and also beating all 3 extra worlds)

if you do this in 5 hours you should consider spending your skills on something that benefits you and not on nintendo games :P
I'm an old school gamer, I started off with mario bros in the arcade and SMB 1 on the NES
after this I played almost all the mario releases.

I had no expections from this game but it was worth the 60(!!) euro i spend.

Hope Nintendo will make some DLC for this soon.

Good to know!
But I hate to tell you that you probably spent to much on the game.
