Stuck in GodMode9

Hi! So, I'm kinda new to modding, and I've always seen people do it on their 3ds and it's so cool how many games they have, so I decided that wanted to try it out. But I'm kinda stuck on the GodMode9 confirmation script, where you have to do a confirmation pattern that is up, down, left, right, and the A button. But for some reason, the A button just doesn't register, but the A button works out of GodMode9, which is weird. Does anyone have a solution for this, please?

It's been a while since I hacked a 3DS, so I don't remember it very well, but which hack method did you choose?
Are you following one from 3ds.hacks.guide? If so, which step are you up to?

Have you turned your 3DS off since installing the hack? If so, does holding either Start or Select do anything when powering it back on?
