So is mGBA or VBA GX more reliable?

Great thread, should be stickied tbh.

Maybe you could section one bit for emulators, the other for homebrew (providing it's still being updated)! (:

I only knew vbagx but it seems like mGBA is better. I will check popularity of suggested apps before adding them.
I've just added sections, as you suggested.

Concerning updating this thread, I think it's gonna be OK since it's links to projects pages or latest versions, not links to specific versions.

As far as emulating GBA games go, mGBA is superior in performance, running many games at perfect or near perfect speeds, and also does something to the sound so it's smoother than your usual emulator. VBAGX has more options, and one of those pretty GUis that people seem to care so much about, but games don't work as well as mGBA. It was a nice surprise to see how well works, and it keeps getting better.

I personally think that having both is a good idea.

Good thread, too.

I'm not adding these, emulator plugins dols are not up to date. But i admit that the idea of launching games, roms, apps from the same launcher is sexy. I think it's better to only have links to simple apps in this thread; and not this type of package which is very difficult to keep up to date.

I'm not adding it since this mod is not maintained as often as the official mGBA project.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Ok yes they were both made by Rare, but DK was from Rare back then, Rare now is owned by MS. So makes since.
