Hacking Starting anew, but I need help

I got a new 3.4 wii with Lu66, it is hackable ,but....

I forgot what I needed to install and how most things work

I know I need preloader and bootmii
first question can I install preloader on all system firmware including 3.4
and is priiloader better than preloader?

Can somebody point me to a how to guide to update to 4.0 or 4.1?

if I'm missing anything that I need please post it.

Editoes it help that I have a already hacked 4.0 wii? Can I use bootmii to use its nand?

I got bootmii and preloader installed, along with usbloader and cios rev 14, now how do I update 3.4 to 4.0 or 4.1,can I use Waninoko's updater,even though its in the apps that brick list?
Can I update via disk? What games have a 4.0,4.1, or 4.2?

You can update to 4.1 with NSMBW or you could use dop-ios to install IOS60(needed for 4.0 and 4.1) and then the system menu either 4.0 or 4.1

Or just have a run of Pimp My Wii. It'll update your IOSes, keep the trucha-bug intact, and also take you to 4.1.

Thanks I'll try that now one last question,I got a new seagate 250 expansion drive,I checked the computability wiki list,and it says it works via usb loader gx,but whenever I load usb loader gx it says plug in your drive,I am using the newest cios rev 14,can anybody with a seagate expansion please tell me their setup,and I set the spindown to never with the seagate harware.

are you using the correct usb port try swapping port and trying again
