Has anyone got SSBB 480p working on a PAL machine using the VDIGI VGA Cable?

I can start the game with 480P but you can see that the game itself switches the resolution to 480i when you turn it on. And the VGA cable can't handle that 480i and it looks extremely washed out.

I've seen others say that they can play in 480P with their PAL machine but I'm starting to wonder if maybe they are fooled by the game (as I said above, the game switches automatically to 480i when you turn it on). If they use component cables and a HDTV, you might not be able to see that you are in fact playing in interlaced (480i).

I ran into the same problem, got component cables, my Wii settings are 480p.
When I start the game my Wii automatically switches to 480i.
Was wondering if there is a solution to this.

The Deflicker option isn't relative to this, since you need to have it off if you want to play 480i on PAL anyway.

I have the same problem too, with official Nintendo component cables. Are you guys using the DVD5 version? I am, and maybe its just that the support for 480p isn't properly contained on the DVD5 dump, so it automatically reverts.

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare

@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
