Homebrew ssb homebrew

i know there is no ssb homebrew for DS but was there ever one for a weaker console that can be emulated on the ds?

Long answer: Do you even know what the first SSB was for? It was for the N64. The DS is equal to N64, therefore... No.

Go play an N64 emu for the PC

well unless you are looking at 2d where then it is VERY possible. Hyper Clubbing friends was probably the closest anyone has gotten with a ds.

well actually there was, you should be able to find it in the downloads section, but it was absolutely horrible (but i guess you couldn't expect much more from a homebrew)

you could try jump ultimate stars, it's like ssb, but with shonen jump characters. its a Japanese game, but there is an english patch
