Sprint has undercut Verizon's pricing for the Samsung Galaxy Tab by a whole $200, and announced that it will sell the tablet for $400 starting November 14. Now you can actually buy a Galaxy Tab for less than the entry price of an Apple iPad ($499), something that could prove a boon for sales of Samsung's tablet. That's of course, if you are up for signing another two-year contract with a wireless carrier.
Last week Verizon got slated for pricing the Samsung Galaxy too high. The price tag is $600, but there's no contract required. Prices start at $20 per month for 1GB of data traffic, all the way up to $80 for 10GB of data. Sprint watched from the sidelines, and announced on Monday that the Galaxy Tab will be cheaper on its network-a whole $200 cheaper when bought with a two-year service contract.
Sprint's price plans for the Galaxy Tab start at $30 for 2GB of data, or $60 per months for 5GB and unlimited messaging (the Galaxy Tab is essentially a huge Android phone). Sprint might be offering the Galaxy Tab cheaper, but it makes up for that in pricing plans. On Sprint, 1GB of data on the cheapest plan is $15, while on Verizon is $10, and on the most expensive plan is $12, compared to Verizon's $8 per GB.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab is a 7-inch Android 2.2 tablet, part of an upcoming line of competitors to Apple's popular iPad.
