there mite be 48 playable characters instead of 35, the leaker only played subspace which only unlocks 65% of the pc

No chance. That percentage from Subspace I'm assuming is similar in style to Super Mario World. For each door you open, that percentage goes up until you've found every hidden exit. They beat the main plot at 50-60%-ish.

While I doubt that there will be 48 characters it is a possibility. You could still have them unlockable through event or challenge or just the occurrence of some kind of even (like 200 vs. matches or something).

in melee you needed 1000 vs matches to unlock game and watch, so maybe in brawl you need 1000 vs matches to unlock the last character? we might not know who it is for another day or two

Playing online lags like crazy.. but I think it's cause he's connected to people from Japan. Could that be the case?

Of course online will lag like crazy unless it's against someone near yourself. Playing against someone in another country will be pointless IMO.

Fighting games over the internet = lose.

If your playing against someone in your own country it's prob. ok
