Hacking Sound Regulator

My sound regulator is suddenly going very unsmooth, like there's a gap in the middle of the sounds regulator and it sticks in there.
Does anyone has this problem? And what did you do to solve it?

i would try blowing some compressed air in the volume slider...dust may have gotten in there
