They should simply make a compilation of the original Genesis Sonic 1,2, and 3 for the DS.

They could just use the Sonic Rush engine, but use the original level designs, physics and sound. They could have single screen for purists or dual screen modes for a unique twist on the originals.

I'd get it just for Sonic 2 myself. The music to that game has burned itself into my brain. I still play it on occasion.

I might go play it now.......

I wouldn't give this news any credibility. The German news site that's mentioned as source credits this news to Enterbrain - a magazine publisher. Why would a publisher for magazines publish these news themselves? Doesn't make sense to me. Nothing about it on their website, too.

Smells funny, IMHO.

I'd happily go for something that Capcom is doing with Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles. Ok they've remade them with 3D which look really bad for me but they've included the original games as well.

So if Sega maybe remade the first 4 titles in the Rush engine for those who hate on the old style and also included the classic versions as well. Hell add some nice multiplayer in like some race/time attack modes and it'll do well I reckon.

I hated Sonic Rush.
TOO FAST.
The game plays itself.
Same with Sonic Rush Adventure, but in Adventure you have 100 cut scenes per level as well.

I miss Sonic genesis games.
And the DS sega emulators I could find had no sound.
Sad day.

Sonic rush adventures on the DS was good. The thing that put me off the game was doing levels again to get the materials you needed to progress in the game. That got boring. Sega had milked the Sonic franchise to death. Also all the bad sonic games haven't helped either. Sonic heroes was passable. Then we got shadow the hedgehog, sonic surfers and the list goes on, all were bad.

Sonic doesn't work in 3D. Though they did an excellent job with the sonic adventure games on the Dreamcast. Its just a shame they can't seem to make a game like that on the new consoles. I can remember downloading the demo of sonic the hedgehog on xbox live. The game was total and utter rubbish, the camera was really bad. That totally ruined the game.

The demo was that bad I took it that it was a Beta, that they would fix the camera. On the original game the camera was exactly the same. Sonic has died for me now. Hopefully he might get a few more good games released in 2D on the DS.

Well, I'm currently playing Sonic Rush Adventure and I'm so more addicted to it than I was to the original Sonic Rush.

I also think the Gba games were good too, despite a lot of people hating these.

I just hope Sega won't stop making Sonic sidescrolling games. It's a great series.

1,500 copies?

Dayum.

Imagine Designer has probably sold over that many

Sonic games for dreamcast were great in almost every sense. Adv.1 had a quite good plot and atmosphere on it. I'm a little inclined to like SEGA more than other companies and somehow feel dispise for Sony, somehow as if they were to blame on SEGA's fall

so I hope they keep on going...
Also, Sonic Rush Adventure was pretty good, so was Rush, so dunno why such bad cyphers.

Oldie Sonics were all good APART from Sonic CD which was horrible imho. Slow acceleration sucks. I have been meaning to try the Adventures, but I didn't really take to it when I gave it a short whirl all those years ago. Always have been more of a 3D Mario man myself.

But only 1500 copies... um, wtf?! That can't be right...

Great in every sense? Well I guess thats your're opinion but to me though they had their moments, I can't say I enjoyed them that much. The adventure bits where bloody terrible, like I want to walk around and talk to people! The camera was dreadful and the music was horrid. I liked some of the Knuckles levels but jesus I just hated the none Sonic levels so much.

Oh wow Sonic R! I thought I was the only one who spent a lot of time on that. I was so young when I played that =D

I loved the old Sonic games too, the ones on the Genesis. I particularly remember being so excited to play as Super Sonic in 2. I wish they'd make him a playable character in future games, not just the last stage vshooter in Rush2

sonic has been getting worse and worse. As shaun said good old sonic 1 & 2 were the best. Hopefully the failure will prompt some proper innovation. Who knows a new character....

Amazed it only sold 1500 I can't see a translation unless it was already underway

Sonic Advance 1 has a few good stages, but the game became boring as it became a boring jump and hope I live thing at the end, which alot of the bonus stages of SRA where

sonic R was great. especially the cheesy music

Well, I thought that the Sonic Rush-adventures were great games. Sure, the non-Sonic levels and adventuring sucked, but the Sonic levels were so good that I actually wanted to play through them

The camera was acceptable, though it wasn't perfect.

The music was great
