custom healthscreen... use healthii, lol

well ya, but with your CSSM i dont really wanna install any thing else in my wii, i'm actually waiting for you guys ( not knowing that you add a part of this but good thing you are) to make something like this since gamma, as i told before i dont wanna install 20 risky things in my wii, i want one well done thing and i think that you guys are the dudes to do it.
i really have my bet in you guys.
Fors and DD cuz you guys are really smart and know what your talking about
now clarky i'm sorry but your a bit full of your self and my trust does not go that way ( i know it as nothing to do with what you were saying but i add too get if off my chest )

Well since Fors has reassured me I won't lose the normal disc speed with my modded Wii, guess I'll most definitely get this when ti's released. I hope you definitely make it an idiot proof install guide though. Then I'll finally upgrade from my 3.2 build with Starfall.

Thanks Fors for the update! I am among those patiently waiting for its release.

Well well well. I'm not too happy about a delay but hey can't rush it. If I could do it all myself I would and wouldn't have to wait for you. However as you are far superior to me in your talents I can only expect that this sym will blow me away and likely cause me to cum upon seeing the release details. I'm happily waiting for this and Diggity glad the two of you are working with each other on this one. It's looking more and more promising. I can safely say that I will be happy as hell to finally see all this work pay off. You two are doing great work. I can't wait for it. If either of you two need any help with anything on this I will gladly test for you and anything else you may need.

haha, my installer is pretty noob proof.

Advanced install or Basic install. (advanced to pick and choose options, basic does everything automated)

"Do you accept liability agreement?"

It will update all official IOS's to the newest versions and repatch the signing bug back in, no need to have older IOSes anymore.

Then it will install Dashboard.

Complete.

(advanced lets you skip the IOS update / etc for those who dont need it, because it does take a while (bout 10-15 mins)). It doesnt hurt though to atleast go through it once to make damned sure you're up to date and stylin, so I would advise everyone to run the Basic Routine.

The wii will reboot and Dashboard will do its firstrun (as soon as Dashboard detects that you have installed a sym, it will no longer show up and your wii will boot into a system menu whenever you turn it on. If you'd like to get to Dashboard again, for recovery or to boot a different sym, you can always access it by holding 'X' when you turn on your wii.)

Due to the firstrun routine, you will be prompted to install a system menu of your choice (where there is an array of different options, including official sym's and cSSM).

Done

Timeline anyone? Curious to see what's launching when.

Also...fors... I've been hearing about you since I've joined this site, about cSM would be epic ect, but I'd never actually seen what you do. If what you say about this is true... I'm think this is the holy Grail of wii hacks. Glad to be here to experience it.

Also, 200th post. When I joined about a month ago, every was still using normal health screens and gamma. Suddenly the scene explodes, and almost every major breakthrough is launched. I'm currently making a softmii in depth video guide on YouTube, and a few days ago that was a cutting edge pack. Now we get a little think called cssm coming out...

Congrats guys.

Dunno if you got this planned, but when the user has installed more than one sym, might be sweet to select the sym of choise by a button press on boot.

For instance:
Hold A on boot will load 3.4 original
Hold B on boot will load 3.2 original

No button press will load the sym set as default (offcourse this will be 3.4 cssm

)
All would be 100% configurable offcourse.

Anyway....Just a thought.

Great to get some new info, but I have a few questions about CSSM. By hold X do you mean on a GameCube controller (like the current StarFall recovery thing)? Is there any chance we could use Reset to access the Dashboard (like preloader) so that people wouldn't need to have anything besides the wii and a wiimote to access it? Regardless, sounds like there is quite a bit of progress being made, and I'm glad to hear that this project is still alive.

i'm guessing "x" is just an exemple, he did not pick a botton yet

First: I realy hope that "X" is just an example...but are you shure? As long as I get it right from HackMii and Co., the Wii searches very early for GC-Parts, even before the Wii-Parts launches. That's maybe the reason why SafeMii and co all used GC-Parts (Slot, Controller). And since Dashboard launches even earlier than Preloader...it uses Gamecube-Controllers? Just a guess...

Well, I could be totaly wrong here, if so, go on a and flame me...but if we need a GC-Controller..damm go and buy one..you can also play new games with it (Sonic, etc...) + GC Games and Classic-games...come on..we all know that you will save money with the "Backups"...

@Topic: One Night away, you wake up the next morning, go to this Topic and BAM...you're in a sort of coma...

This..is..just perfect...man......huh.....

Blue-K,

I fully agree with your comment. this is due to the fact that the wiimote needs to be synchronized before it can be accessed. therefor I think it could be done, but we would have to wait for the sync to take place before the wii can go to the menu.. sounds a little bit counterproductive.
I guess I have a couple of days/weeks to get myself a GCcontroller

unless we have the possibility to enter using the reset button...

daaaa.. patience, patience...

anyway from my reading this seems to be a very interesting (if not the most interesting) project going around.

one question though..
yeah we often hate this type of question.
but what about uninstalling it.
let's imagine I have a hardware prob with my box and want to ship it to the big N.. can I uninstall and clean the box ?

cheers,
and thanks for all your efforts.

To the person who said simple batch file... takes far more than that to safely institute the menu changes/skins into dashboard etc. We have to completely rewrite the app installers as we want it to be automatic, no user intervention other than selecting the skin they want from the screen shot library.

I see, super duper Noob friendly. Good luck with that!

(IMHO its not an good idea to customize the Wii Menu, i wait for the real deal)
