Hacking Some homebrew apps have prob with 480p?

I have been having some problems recently after installing the cIOS required to play MadWorld without the #002 error, I think it was cIOS 36 rev 8 or 9. Anyway, ever since then, a couple of new USB loaders and some GeckoOS programs load to a black screen (even after installing cIOS rev 10). There was sound, but no vision. After much screwing around, I tried to change the Wii screen settings off EDTV/480P, and it all worked. So for some reason these programs dont like 480P but are fine on 50 and 60 Hz. Whats the deal??
