Gaming some advice needed please

i'm trying to help a mate out
they have 2 psp's a 1000 and what appears to be a 2000 ta088 v3

the 1000 is completely dead the only thing that will come on is a charger light, i've tried taking out the battery and leaving it on charge to see if i can get it to boot up but nothing
the 2000 won't recognize umd's (i also can't hear the laser reading the disc at all) also unfortunately it is on ofw 6.20 i've tried putting on pspident but it won't run on it

any idea folks

The only thing you can do is get a pandora battery for the 1000.

It might have died. I had a cheap pandora that died. Also you need magic memory stick.

yes it is a pandora, it works on any other psp i've done and it even makes the other psp (the one above i'm not sure about) green light come on

i just put it in the other psp and in mine

Some people do sell some claiming to be pandora but aren't. Anyway as you said that you have used it before then chances are either its dead or your PSP is just screwed.

just put it into 2 psp's and the lights came on
dealextreme one of the people by any chance i've seen something on a psp site about fuses being blown

Try leaving the battery in and charging it a bit. See if you can get to the XMB and check the power level.

EDIT: Posted just too late, so in addition, so maybe the fuse has blown if the battery's in the same condition but won't work with that 1000.

well i tried the leaving the battery out and charging it so it won't hurt to try this but if i can't get the pandora to kick it up i'll assume this ain't gonna work but it's wort a go

any idea how i can tell what board the other one is? does the pandora react (make the green light come on) on a ta088 v3?

No, a Ta088v3 is exactly what won't work with it. I think it just boots normally; that is, into the XMB.

surely to god then it can't be a ta088 v3 if the light is coming on

I don't have anything with that motherboard, so maybe the light does come on, I don't know, but I don't think it does.
