yes, also if you are getting the black screen still, try changing your armboot.bin. I ran boot2.bin (boot2_sd.bin version) first to get everything rolling along, then after I was able to get into the system menu and update to 4.2U I switched over to boot2.bin + di.bin (boot2_di.bin + di.bin) making sure each time to rename the boot2_sd/di.bin file (which ever is being used) to boot2.bin and placing it into the root of the SD card only.
What would I change the armboot to?

You can use the one from the SNEEK googlecode downloads section armboot.bin r47 if you aren't already, or the one from your mini-tree-mod folder from the source you compiled. What hard drive are you using by any chance?

Is the hard drive relevant to my problem? I thought the harddrive didn't have to be plugged in during the startup (not that I haven't tried). It's a 1TB MyBook (the fat one from '08).

I'm sure I've tried using a bunch of armboots but I'll try again.

For confirmation, boot2.bin (DI) goes in root, di.bin goes in root, font.bin goes in root, region.bin goes in root, and armboot.bin goes in /bootmii. These are all the files I need aside from the NAND dump on root and the games folder on the USB, correct?

yes it should, but it needs to be on usb anyways, if you plan on loading games from it, it goes a folder called sneek on the root of the usb.so does slot.bin (but that gets created automatically)

i think region.bin goes in a folder called sneek on the usb drive.
Correct, that is where it goes. usb:/sneek/region.bin. I found that this file is my problem regarding the black "Eject disc and..." screen when trying to load a game through the DI menu. It is currently 00 00 00 01 on my 4.2U NAND but I'm gonna give 00 00 00 02 a shot. Can't hurt right?

kyle007 said:
it can't but that error is usually caused by the region.bin are you trying to run a PAL disc?
No, it's NTSC with region.bin being 00 00 00 01. I'm using conanac's main.c version to us DI menu with 4.2U. I works perfect except that error when loading games. I even got that error running a 4.2E NAND with the original main.c.

Try using r67 for dip.c and dip.h (along with r78 for others) and recompiling them.

And it wont hurt to recopy that specific game files to your USB drive again.

Hope that helps.

I got HBC working right side up and with no scam warning/middle finger on an "artificially" constructed NAND.

Starting with the minimum posted before (EULA, Region Select, IOS17,30,31, Boot2, SM etc...) I did an official update to 4.2U. Then I copied the JODI title/tik files from an extracted BootMii dump with a valid HBC install and hex edited the uid.sys to add the JODI entry.

I realize that this is no big discovery, but it could be useful for people trying to get a clean "virgin" NAND with HBC installed for SNEEK.
I'm trying all day to get the HBC installed in sneek, i followed the same path you did. The wad posted here doesn't work for me.
I've got an extracted bootmii dump with a valid HBC install.
I've got a clean virgin/nand.

Which files from my bootmii hbc dump do i have to copy to my virgin nand?
And this
CODE00 01 00 01 4A 4F 44 49 00 00 10
has to be added to the uid.sys file from the virgin nand?
thanx

Does anyone know how I could get a working NAND using only fresh files from NUSD?

This is how I done it:
1. Download IOS30 v1040, make sure you decrypt it and pack a .wad
2. Download System Menu 3.2X (what ever version Wii you have), decrypt it and pack a .wad
3. Open ShowMiiWads
4. Create a blank folder on desktop (I named mine "Scratch 3.2U NAND")
5. Click on Options -> Change NAND backup path. Select the folder you just created.
6. Click View -> ShowMiiNAND (the program is now called "ShowMiiNand")
7. Drag the two .wad files you downloaded through NUSD to ShowMiiNand.
8. At the bottom click install
9. copy your setting.txt from an actual dump to the title/00000001/00000002/data folder that was created in your "blank folder"
10. copy the four folders: title, ticket, sys, shared1 to the root of whatever device you are going to be using to host your NAND.
11. Launch SNEEK/UNEEK and it will be as if it is the first time you started your wii (in reality it is, and you may have to wait a couple minutes the first time you boot it up this time only)
12. Update through System Update
13. Voila, a scratch made NAND
mind if I put this in my guide ??? I'm going to put it there if you don't want it there let me know I'll take it out.

R79 out

DI:
-files in the usb:/games folder are now ignored
-removed the "part.bin" mode, only file mode is now supported
-added GC disc support
-added disc type detection
-added GC region hack (also uses value from usb:/sneek/region.bin)

ES:
-Fix text position calculation
-menu now also show disc type
-added 4.2U region free hack for disc
-added 4.2U sneek menu offsets

What's that about files in usb:\games being ignored? Do games go elsewhere now?

Edit: or maybe that just means it only looks for folders there. Guess I'll have to take a look at it later.

sucks that we can't use part.bin's anymore, i just started reripping my games to use that format lol it was alot cleaner
