Someone posted some possible offsets a while back but I didn't get around to testing them out. Guess I should do that later today.

Lol, yes now even my real nand got turned to Europe so I can take its setting.txt file and that didn't work. Didn't have time to restore nand yet. ARGGHHH

no, you should get the whole setting.txt decrypted. the section he posted is not complete. if he only changes values in this portion and then encrypts it and puts in in his nand, he will not have a complete file.

to use what i posted, you will need to compile it for whatever you want to run it on.

I'm sorry for sounding like such a noob but I'm not that good with coding yet. How would I compile this? I found a decrypter that outputs setting_decrypted and it is in fact fully decrypted but there isn't a tool to encrypt it, just decrypt it. Is there any way you could compile it for em or lead me in the direction of compiling it myself. I have Visual C++. TY

I don't think he was posting the entire decrypted file that he got. I think he was assuming the decrypter would produce a pure text file that was readable with notepad, and that's not the case in my experience. The end of the file is still just binary (non-text) data. Decrypting it with that tool and re-encrypting it worked fine for me.

Yep, same for me using showmiiwads to switch System menu's then changing the setting.txt gave me a perfect working clean 4.2E NAND. BUT SNEEK DI still doesn't work

. Sneek SD works perfectly as soon as I put the di.bin and boot2_di.bin renamed to boot2.bin I get no signal.

Could someone who gets SNEEK di to work show me how their filestructure on SD and USB is set up?

and what system menu do you have on your SD NAND.

Also does sneek di take longer to boot than regular sneek?

4.2 NAND - Nothing works, blackscreen.

After changing your SM 4.2U to 4.2E for your NTSC bump did you change anything else then Area=USA to EUR in setting.txt? TY

I did not and it works perfectly I didn't even change game region... so I can play NTSC games on 4.2E

Sorry giantpune you were right. I just found a setting.txt file that does not decrypt all the way using the tool from the original post.

The decrypter I use outputs a file called decode.txt after running decrypt.bat and this is what it looks like in Hex editor:

Looking at it in the Hex editor, the binary looks to repeat itself where as the binary before I decrypt it doesn't seem to repeat and has less binary. Regardless, it boots my scratch 3.2E NAND upgraded through ninty, I pull up the game menu (Start, select a game, A, Start) but a game never shows in the disc channel. Are there any suggestions/comments regarding:

1. Why the encrypted file tends to repeat itself? The original enrypted file doesn't even have as much binary.

2. What I am doing wrong?

3. Can anyone upload the tool(s) they use to successfully decrypt AND encrypt with a working setting.txt that will load games through disc channel?

If you are using system menu 4.2U and want to use the built-in game change menu (with GC pad), there is no need to change the region and system menu to 4.2E. I managed to make necessary changes in the file main.c (in folder ES) so that I could use system menu 4.2U along with that nice built-in game change menu (with GC Pad).
