Hey i have a PAL wii with wiikey, my wiikey is at firmware 1.9g and my console was at 3.1E before i played SMG so when i put SMG in my wii it doesnt ask for an update, my wii recognises the disk and when i go to play it it gets to the warning screen and then says error reading disk, see manual or something like that. i've tried burning at diff speeds, using diff media, tried taking the disk out and inserting again when this error comes up, also tried changing read speeds in 1.3 config nothing seems to work can anyone help me out here please

edit: also forgot to mention my SMG version is PAL and i didnt brickblock or regionfrii or anything

Well, first suggestion is to run regionfrii software and verify that your smg is indeed PAL.

Does the SMG logo show up in the disc channel at all?

To me, it looks like your SMG might be brick-blocked although you say it's not. Can you try obtaining an iso for it again? If it were brick-blocked, I would say it would probably show your symptoms.

It should ask you for an update. If the update is not run, the game doesn't run. This is even if your wii is already at 3.1

Otherwise, i don't know. Do all your other games, backups and originals all work fine? is this just this one game? Did you just recently updated your wiikey to 1.9g? Have you ever enabled multi region support on your wiikey? (if you haven't, don't)

BTW, wiikey firmware 1.9g has this "bug" where it doesn't really change the disk speed even if you change it in the configuration. It has a fixed speed that can not be changed and may give you better or worse results from your burned discs.

all my other originals and backups work just fine, yes its just this one game ive been on 1.9g long before i got smg, yes i enabled multi region already and yes it shows up in wii channel as i mentioned in the first post (my wii recognises the disk and when i go to play it it gets to the warning screen).
i'll try the regionfrii to check if it def is PAL and i'll try another iso i'll report back once ive done.

try changing the read speed of your drive between 3x and 6x. if it wont play either your laser is having trouble loading the discs or your media...

when you put it in does it show up in the disc channel and then screw up when you go to play it?

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar

Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)

Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
