Gaming Skylanders' 3DS portal on Wii: works fine?

Hi,

I've been reading some conflicting feedback on this.
- Does 3DS Portal of Power actually work on a Wii?
- does it need some special HW/cable to connect?
- Are there some limitations (like number of characters simultaneously used, hiccups, etc)?

I have this same question, and I cannot find the answer anywhere, and I cannot currently get it working, I am softmodded on the wii, but I just really would like confirmation and some assistance if possible. Thanks!

I can answer this, soon enough. I have the 3DS portal, and the WODE. I'll cover this in my first video. The game is fantastic on 3DS and consoles, BTW.

Took a big breath, bought the 3DS game, and tried on Wii with included USB cable: it works just fine with Wiiflow r417a4 and d2x-v7-final!
Hard drive on one port, Portal on the other one.
Have fun

While it may work they most certainly did not "only make one". The 3DS portal is about 1/3 smaller than the ones that come with any of the other platforms.
Does anyone have any solid proof of the 3DS portal working on other platforms?

EDIT:
After some research I found someone saying they wrote to activision and got an official response claiming the following:

The Xbox portal will only work on an Xbox. The 3DS portal is universal and will work on any system except an Xbox. The PS3 and Wii have the same portal and will be interchangeable and can also work in the PC version of the game. The PC portal will only work on the PC version of the game. All portals will work for the Web world.
