Hacking Serial numbers of unmoddable wii's

I'm starting this thread becuase I haven't been able to find a list of Wii's (versions) with serial numbers for the hardware that have had things changed. I.E. There's been this buzz about legs being cut, legs being removed, smaller pads, etc.. But I haven't really been able to find anything other than in IRC chats about this. I bought an LU5180 and was told the legs were cut, and since I got it today I'll have to spend 500 wii points for the Wii Browser. If anyone knows a link or knows the answer to my question, please reply. Thanks in advance.

Well, it's not "unmoddable"...just difficult to mod compared to the earlier ones. Well, I just picked up a Wii from a friend and it had cut legs...the serial number was LU5181

the serial numbers dont really tell you anything my serial number could be modded however some people below my number had a wii that couldn't so you never really know untill you open it up.
