I updated the file by changing the default thread to 18.
Manual mode now has more core enabled if your pc supports it.

I'm just now hearing a lot about this "NSZ" format. Is it a compressed NSP? Kinda like the ISO -> CSO format from the PSP days?

Kind of. The included NCAs are compressed which makes the whole NSP smaller.

Unfortunately installing Splatoon2.nsz via Tinson in Tinfoil 5 did not work.
There was an NCA error for which I'll provide the screenshot once I'm home.
Did anyone of you guys already test the combo (NSZ -> Google Drive -> Tinson -> Tinfoil 5).
FW 9.0.1 with newest SX OS.
NSP installation works fine that way but NSZ does not as it seems.

According to these release notes it should be coming to NSC Builder soon.

Tbh I'm not sure whether we really want this.
The only purpose of XCIs is to mount and play them with SX OS but if they are compressed I think they'll have longer loading times. Could be wrong though.

No with the Zstandard they will be very fast to decompress, it's just the compression that takes a lot of time.

Is that so? Even then, if they can't be mounted on the fly but need to be decompressed, it would take some time to mount something like Witcher3.xcz I think.

that game could never work to mount as a xcz since it would eat up all memory just to decompress it.
