It says in the article it's a rumor, and honestly 140 seems a bit too low for Nintendo considering it's selling pretty well at the current price. There's not really a need to slash the price AFAIK.

Sounds iffy, I know the consoles aren't selling super super well in the US and such but they're still selling pretty decently, certainly not bad enough to warrant a price cut.

Still a $140 3DS is rather tempting although I'd go for the XL personally.

If the Black Friday type deals land on Christmas, I think the Vita has quite a good position. A white PSVita + AC:L + 4GB memory card for $179.99. Not bad.

but hey it's a rumor so probably not true, just to make people wait on buying a 3DS that want one
so all the mums buy the current stock for Christmas then when the rumor turns out to be false people that want one will pay any price because they want it for Christmas and they're hard to get
