Whenever I power off and power on the console, the dark theme I installed with rosalina theme installer goes back to the white theme, how can I make the change permanent?

Sounds like dying NAND. To confirm: Could you connect to the Wii U with Wii U FTP server, then create some dummy file at /storage_mlc/, power off the console, power it back on, reconnect and see if the file is still there? In case the file vanished it's your NAND, so old hardware and nothing you can do.

I just took a risk for you all. I injected the dark green theme into my mlc on tiramisu. no issues. it worked without a problem, though I used ftp server by @Laf111 like I now do, always. kinda an ugly green color. lol

which is safer ftp or rosilna?
I've never used rosalina, but I bricked my system last night with ftp. I changed my theme from blue to green to an almost tropical color. then, when I changed to blue again and exited, the system would freeze at the wii u logo. it would also freeze at boot up. I managed to fix it though by going into the homebrew channel and ftping the theme again. if you have tiramisu, press the + button on the gamepad when booting up to select the homebrew launcher; if using cbhc, use the home button when it says autobooting. don't try changing the menu unless you have one of those installed first just in case it bricks.
