Psyonix, the developer behind the game of cars and soccer Rocket League, has joined Fortnite in Sony's Cross Play Beta Program and has announced and enabled cross-platform play for the wildly successful game on the PS4 now, allowing all platforms to mix and mingle freely with one another, and continue to slowly destroy the brick wall that Sony has surrounded their users with thus far. Unfortunately, there is no cross-platform party support as of yet, but you can still play with your friends by creating a Private Match. Make sure you have "Cross Platform Play" enabled in Rocket League's settings under the Gameplay tab in the Options menu (the setting only appears outside of a match). Cross-platform party support is due to be released in an update sometime in early 2019, along with Rocket League's new account system called RocketID, which will include all platforms as well. However, it will not be surprising if Psyonix delays the launch of RocketID even further from the originally targeted release date which was back in July of 2018.
