Hacking rockband 2 and firmware 3.4

i'm trying to play the original rockband 2 game on my wii (wiikey 1.9g and 3.1U firmware).
however, when i insert the game disk it asks me to update. so my questions are:
1. if i update, will it update to 3.4U?
2. is my understanding correct that the 3.4 firmware only affects homebrew channel and wads? so if i dont use homebrew or wads, can i still play all my back up games? will it affect my wiikey?

i hope somebody can answer my queries.....

I got 3.3U, a wiikey and Rockband 2. I can install wads and even uninstall them. I don't see why everyone's so pansypants about it.

why not just use WiiBrickBlocker and remove the update files?

i thought you can only use wiiblocker bfore burning an isogame to a disk?

is it true that only 1st party games have/include the 3.4 firmware update?
which games have the 3.4U update firmware?
if so, does it mean that the rockband 2 update is only a ptch and not an actual firware update to 3.4U?

no games have 3.4 on them. for rock band 2 im guessing the update will be 3.3 at most.

why dont you upgrade to 3.2 and shove some starfall on your wii

Rock Band 2 doesn't update to 3.4, as far as I know. I could be wrong.
