Famitsu.com got its hands on the opening movie for 5pb.'s new PS360 adventure game Robotics:Notes. Take a look here:

Amazon also posted the game's standard version box art.

5pb. will release a demo of Robotics:Notes, Famitsu.com reports today. The site picked up on this little bit during a live event that was held yesterday for the game. The demo will be released on both PS3 and Xbox 360 in early June.

The live event also included a demo session from a near final version of the game, and guest appearances from Production IG, the studio that's working on an anime conversion (this was first announced in March). Visit Famitsu.com for a look at the event.

Well, that left me thoroughly unimpressed. If this never gets brought over stateside, I can't see myself losing too much sleep.

It could be because you've seen the opening for Steins;Gate, I won't liE, it doesn't come close to how awesome Steins;Gate is, but it still seems awesome! And if you haven't, you should Steins;Gate is awesome.

Metabots, Transformers and Gundam Seed have done this already. I'm sure they are others as well but I'm too lazy to list 'em all.

This is a visual novel though.........

Oh really? Still though, robots being controlled by children is still cliche. Furthermore, visual novels aren't really my thing.

Have you ever played Steins;Gate? It should be deeper than that (I hope), it is the 3rd game in the science adventure series, after Steins;Gate and Chaos;Head

Isn't it only in Japanese though? My Japanese is almost non-existent.

Nope, there is a translation patch for Steins;Gate.

It could be because you've seen the opening for Steins;Gate

I'll bet $1,000 that's not the reason why and that he has never seen Steins;Gate.

Mainly because he's not a weaboo.

OH SNAP. I'm just kidding. I've never heard of this game and I don't really care.
Yet, you comment.....

Because it's a forum, where people express and share their opinions on different subject matters. Expressing apathy is just as valid as joy, rage, etc.

It's sad how some people don't concieve Visual Novels as a full-fledged form of entertainment. Go on, go play your FPSes again. I won't stop you.

If you'd like to watch an anime version instead, there is one of Chaos;Head, one of Steins;Gate, and according to Wikipedia there will be one for Robotics;Notes as well, starting October.

I am very eager to learn more about this. I was very impressed with Steins;Gate, and altough it should be nearly impossible to top that, I hope it will be close. I have to agree that the trailer seems kind of cliché, but it doesn't tell very much about the story it will follow.

I think I will just wait for the anime. Though I have never read the visual novel for Steins;Gate, I heard that the anime was actually a pretty faithful adaption. And I also gotta agree that Steins;Gate was just pure awesome :) . Okabe was a really cool and unique main protagonist, mostly because of his schizophrenic act and the humor it provides.

The anime is good, but honestly the game is much much better.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
