I just got the last nightly update and found good surprises: That bug who make the resolution back to 640x480 everytime you load a game is fixed. Plus, now it comes with 4 snes cores: Our good old snes9x, snes9x next, and now we have catsfc and catsfc plus.

I tried here the catsfc plus with Super Mario Collection and Rockman 7, but I didnt notice any advantage or worsening if compared with snes9x next.

Now my question: What is better? Snes9x Next or Catsfc cores?

There's no better version unless you compare them yourself, maybe with heavy games like the Super FX ones.

I just tried Star Fox, and still better on snes9x next.
@sindrik I just want to know if have any good reason to use these new snes cores. For exemple, I start to use only Snes9x next, because I found the sound in some games is better them the snes9x gx

Well, basically you decide it based on what runs better the games you normally run all the time. For example, Snes9x GX has all my snes emulation needs covered, and i haven't noticed any difference in running all my current library of "games i really play" (which is not all the romset) against the Retroarch cores, for which i am not too fond of, since the GUI and settings easily transforms into a convoluted mess.

I use the retroarch cores with the Wiiflow to have all these 3d boxes.

Resolution and custom size now is stored!

Edit: custom size doesn't work, neither per core save :/

You are sure that you get the last nightly updates? Here what I'm doing now: First, using 604x240 resolution, I set the CUSTOM to fits the Game Gear Overlay.

Then I start to change for every core possible.

And I included mGBA in my tests :3

Do you use the same custom res for each core?

Edit: it effectively store my custom res but only save globally not per core

Look at the joystick configuration menu, one of the configurations is to select a button for diagnose
