Whatever I do PCSX-RA doesn't boot a game. It just crashes back to the RA XMB. I tried Rival Schools and Policenauts.

Any ideas?

it could be that they dont work yet. everyone (including me) has reported crash bandicoot 1 as working. try that and see if it works for you.

Resident Evil 3 Nemesis runs 100% full speed. Even the cutscenes work full speed, unlike on the New 3DS. This is fantastic. Minor slowdown when there are big explosions such as barrels blowing up.

Presumably all Resident Evil games will run full speed, because they use 2D pre-rendered backdrops.

So, tested PCSX.
Jade Cocoon - Some minor slowdowns but playable.
Digimon World 3 - 100% speed so far, very good.

Questions, is there an option for the analog sticks, or does it get enabled with later updates? Ans another thing, it is possible to resize the fps counter? It's a bit large for my taste.

Hi guys, first of all thanks to everyone working on this project, it's amazing there is already all this stuff working after less than a couple of months since Henkaku came out!

Now...I just updated the few cores I had installed from the 2016-08-24 nightly to the latest, and now for some of them the roms don't show up anymore when I try to load content. I made sure to unistall all the cores before reinstalling, moved all the roms under data/roms/, tried deleting the retroarch folder but still they don't show up :/ Am I missing something?

Here's the cores I'm using and if they do or do not show roms:
  • fceumm WORKING
  • genesis_plus_gx NOT WORKING
  • gpsp WORKING
  • pcsx_rearmed NOT WORKING (I have .bin .cue files)
  • snes9x2005_plus NOT WORKING
  • vba_next WORKING
Thanks!

Which ROMs? Have you added the BIOS?

Yes, I have SCPH5502.BIN and SCPH1001.BIN inside data/retroarch/system, problem is no game shows in the the load content list once I browse to the folder :/
Same with the other cores that I mentioned, the roms were showing and working on the old nightly I had, so I don't know what's going on!

I'm trying to use the PSX emulator, i put in /ux0:/data/retroarch/cores/system the following bios: scph1001.bin, scph5500.bin, scph5501.bin, scph5502.bin & scph7502.bin, but it still say "bios not found expect bugs"

Game is Crash Racing Team (i have a .cue and a .bin files)

Are you sure they aren't like .bin.ECM?

I did use unecm, .bin and .cue are named exactly the same as it should be. Thanks for replying by the way! Other ideas?

lol now i am really pissed off. I think i'll throw vita over the window. Even pcsx core dont let me to see or load content (i've put the right bios in right folder and i had choose Crash 1 for test, no ecm). Why? Pratically i cant use arcade and psx core, only vba and snes work. The only way now is formatting? But exist a method to reactivate without internet or updating vita? Or s useless? Because if i formatting and reinstall everything for nothing, for sure i'll break psv lol

Update on this, I have no idea what is going on, but it seems if from vitashell you copy the file and paste it somewhere else it will then show in the list. I just copied all my roms outside of their directory, deleted the directory, recreated the directory and pasted them back and now I can load them...same directory name and same file names! :/

I have actually had a similar issue to this, where I've copied a file across and Retroarch hasn't actually seen it. I then deleted it then copied it across again and it's been detected fine. I've no idea is Retroarch is at fault however, and I haven't been able to replicate the issue since.

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
