Emulation does offer convenience, especially when you're looking to declutter and not have a bunch of physical consoles and cartridges lying around. It's a practical way to revisit classic games without the hardware.
You've also highlighted a valid point about PAL regions, where games often had different frame rates or were altered in some way. Emulation can provide a smoother experience for those wanting to play the original versions.
Speaking of retro gaming, have you ever tried the classic Google Snake game? It's a fun way to take a break and enjoy some nostalgia, even if it's a departure from the original console experience.

I prefer emulation unless there's a special reason to need hardware (eg: Motion Controls on Wii or the dual screens on the DS/3DS). Usually I don't have much of a choice though as my PC isn't powerful enough to properly emulate anything past the SNES/GBA without FPS drops.
