Hacking Restoring Netflix Wii

Has anybody figured out how to patch over the Netflix release for Wii to get it working? I heard changing the device ID could work, but nothing else. I'd like to be able to run Netflix off my Wii again while I use my main TV.

There is probably a way to restore it but there is no point as you would be watching all the movies/shows in 420p.

When you started Netflix it connected to a specific wii Netflix subdomain, you could make a program that instead of redirecting you to the obsolete link it redirects you to the tv version of Netflix (idk if this is a thing) or normal netflix... that’s the only way I can think of.

My main TV is a 4K TV, the TV I've connected my Wii to is a 37" CRT, so 480P isn't too bad. Couldn't someone just patch the WAD then rely on a separate external program?

At that point maybe you could just stream video directly from a PC? I don't know any software that can do that outside of WiiVNC (which would theoretically allow you to control the UI too), but it may not run at a reasonable frame rate.

i tried to patch the wad with auto wiiware patcher but it said "could not connect to Netflix"and gave me a help link

You are correct WiiVNC won't play at a reasonable framerate. I tried it out, there must be a way to get it working. I believe all that needs spoofing is the device ID but I don't know enough about it.

Sadly, i dont think its possible, i am pretty upset about that, or if you really want to,i think its possible to use wiimc, dont ask me i dont even know im just guessing. See ya!
