I have three problems with this game:
2. First-Person-View (I like the Third-Person-View more, since it doesn`t snap into a whole new screen, which I find irritating and unnecessary!)
2-That's an optional thing. You can chose first or third person aiming. First person is there to give a better feeling of the 3D effect.
Nice, I was hoping that this would be customizable

I pretty much agree, that FP-perspective is really nice with the 3D-effect. I`m currently loving it with Ridge Racer 3D but like I said in RE it is imo unnecessary but nice that they give you the option.

Hopefully the same will go for the control-scheme. I don`t think it would be hard to incooperate that, even when the product is nearly finished. At least I hope so...

My largest concern about this game is the length - 30 missions for $40 is a bit pricey for a standard run. Of course, it's all about the experience and such, but I'll be waiting until more information is known about the game (like how the missions play out, for example) until I make a purchase. Like, if there's 30 missions and 12 maps, and you can play any of those mission on any map, then I'm cool with it. But if it's just 30 single missions....I dunno. There's rumored to be DLC, too. I wonder if they'll add a multiplayer VS mode like they did with RE5?

I kinda agree with you. Furthermore, how will this effect to RE Revelations? Will mercenaries mode be added to RE Revelations? If the coming RE Revelations does not include unlockable mercenaries mode, I will be really disappointed as it will not add much of the needed "value for money" and re-playability to the maybe $40 RE Revelations game...

I did enjoy the game in RE5 when I was playing Co-Op, but it felt a bit tacked on, and not really fleshed out. I'll probably play the game at Best Buy or some other place that has it on display before going to actually buy it, but for a game with no story, I think replayability is a huge concern. That being said, it does look like this version of Mercs will be the most fleshed out version so far, and with online Co-Op, I can definitely see $40 of value. I guess I just want more information on the levels themselves and layouts - are their 30 different maps? Or like, 4 maps with 30 different missions? I think it'll be a huge factor in whether or not I get this game at launch - because it's either this game, or Overclocked.

It's 30 missions and maps from RE5 and RE4

Only some maps are known. I hope there's plenty and some as DLC.

Germany will get it on 30. June!
France on 1 July!
UK on 26 August!
at least thats what amazon.de, .fr and .co.uk show...never saw such strange release dates, maybe its just amazon and we will get it all on 30 June.
August 26th makes no sense. Those are most likely fake.

you mean that amazon.co.uk fakes Dates?
Nah, maybe they did a mistake, still its strange....

at least its better than this one,hu?: http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/nintendo-3ds/re...roductpage.html

I'm basically going to buy this because of the graphics, Resident Evil characters, and it comes with a demo of Revelations. The gameplay seems like it might become a shallow, repetitive experience rather quick. I wish Resident Evil would stick to single player experiences, but having the occasional offshoot game is fine. Personally, I'd rather have a port of Resident Evil 4, than Mercenaries any day.

There's basically no chance in hell of Revelations having a Mercenaries Mode. It'd be pointless. You're meant to buy both Revelations and The Mercenaries. The only thing Revelations may have is a demo of The Mercenaries - say one playable character, one map and the first three missions.

Well it not like if a game says it doesn't support spot pass now when it release,
doesn't mean they can't come back around in put it in there later right?

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
