For Crash Bandicoot, I found that, with sound turned off, it can look fine and play slightly too fast, which was impressive.

But then all it takes is setting the sound on, and setting it to be the most simple (no interpolation) and in many places it is too slow to be enjoyable.

All in all it seems to be sooooo close to playing PS1 games really well on the 3DS. Hopefully the devs will perform further magic.

While playing Crash on it, it occurred to me that the graphics look "about right" for an actual 3DS native game, so if this emulator can be fine tuned some more, it's like suddenly having a much bigger library of 3DS games.

Hi, I'm trying to run Nekketsu Oyako but I don't know how to add a japanese bios. (is it necessary? is it supported?).
The game is and old style beat em up, (it only weights 24 mb) so it should run no problem. Can some one help me?

    Thanks!!

It should run fine with the quality preset, I did test it (with the english translation even) on regular retroarch 3ds.
The supported bios are the ones mentioned in the op, no need to be specific with the region.

Thanks. I added the US bios and now it works. I do get some random arm9 crashes (even when converting using fast mode). Is it a bios issue??

    Hello.:)

I have tried 2 Games (Need for Speed US and Ridge Racer EU,working EBOOT.PBP Files on the PSP).

I have used BIOS File 7001.bin and a Banner Picture.
After a few Seconds I got this Error Message:

    Ohne Titeluhuhuh-2.jpg

    I am using Windows 7 32Bit.

Thank you for reading and for any Help.:)

are you using chd or pbp?
in my experience pbp is more stable than chd (on 3ds at least), that could be causing the crashes, I don't think the bios is at fault.

    there is the error.
makerom (one of the tools used to create the cia) only has binaries for 64bit systems.

Do you mean ZIP Files? You can't use zip files. You need to use PSX Dumps converted into PBP or CHD.

This is working so nice, I only notice a few sound glitches in FFVII on fast preset.
Can someone please tell me games from which region best for emulating. I mean maybe I win some performance if I choose FFVII Europe instead of FFVII USA?

theoretically yes, since you only need to achieve 50 fps instead of 60. but there is no hard proof of that being the case.
there is also the thing that some pal games just ran 20% slower, among other factors.

Sakitoshi, do you plan to update PCSX Rearmed emulator inside PS1 Forwarder to new stable release when it's came with Post Unai renderer?

I'm experiencing some random crash with games maked with last release of PS1 Forwarder. I believe nightly retroArch release must be the case.

Thank you for your hard work.

no significant update to pcsx-rearmed has happened since the last release of this forwarder, so I see no need to update yet.

Well, I have decripted and extracted official PSN FFVIII EBOOT.PBP
Unfortunately I cannot find a way how to pack it again inside .PBP file

The official eboot doesn't work ,because they have editted something inside,i am not a programmer,so i don't know,it is probably related to CRC-32 2gb limitation issue. On the first page ,the topic creator already mentioned that official eboot doesn't work.

edit: I used PSX2PSP to make conversations.

May I ask how to export the save data of the cia? -- Found and exported.

Another question is if this method has better performance than Retroarch with the same core. I tried both way and this forwarder way seems better but I am not sure if this is because of my setting in Retroarch not optimal.

I would like to share with my experience. I already tested 3 games with "fast" setting presset.
    • FFVII working fine with barely noticeable sound lags. But I'm experience the same problem on my phone with eSPXe emulator.
    • FFVIII has some random sound glitches but actually running not bad, problem is that game cannot find memory card (I don't test second memory card in Forwarder options), and second issue - if you encounter a fight on world map battle screen not loaded, the 3ds is not hang I can hear music and sound of selecting something in action menu but battle screen don't show up.
    • FFIX sound glitches on in-game video and on battle start but tolerable. Don't get too far in game yet

Tried FF IX, good on most scenes. Slight lag on battle start, great lag on particle effects in battle (like fire...), greatest lag on Trance. Overall, playable.
