I can give you mine to look at, but without the ability to make changes, development would be slow. The save I was looking at was made some time ago, so I can't try to make sense of it by reading values in-game and searching a more recent save for them. I'm trying to dump a more recent, up-to-date save as I type this, but saviine is being an @$$.

Thanks but I'll pass. I'd need a lot of saves since I'm fairly new to this and it'd just become an arduous task.

Okay. Well, I can't even begin to make sense of the Wii U's weapon data structure. I don't know how anyone ever did it on 3DS, but if anyone wants to take a stab at it I can give them saves to examine. If I can get !$# saviine to run. I've run it once before, so I have no idea why it's not running now.

I worked out most of it fairly easily by creating a save backup, deleting a weapon and comparing the save before and after. That told me where the weapons were stored. After that, I just played with the values until things started making sense. It's a good place to start if nothing else.

So how would deleting a weapon help you find where the weapons are? By running a diff? I suppose I could start messing around with it, but there's no way I can do that if saviine won't work for me.

You see what's changed. In the case of the weapons in HWL, it changed to an empty slot, so it was fairly obvious. As well as the fact it was surrounded by other information seemingly in the same structure.

Oh yeah. I wasn't thinking straight because of the saviine issues. Deleting a weapon wouldn't remove that data, but change it to an empty weapon slot. Of course.

Uh...
I can't seem to explain this. I dumped my save twice. Once for an initial load, then a second time after selling a Knight's Sword (2 stars, power 96, only skill is Hearts+ in the first skill slot, no other skill slots). I'm stepping through the differences by pressing F6 when comparing the two files in HxD, and I'm seeing evidence that some stuff was shifted one byte to the left, as if something was actually removed from the file, rather than changed.

Edit: Never mind. HxD is being stupid for some reason. I can never figure out how to use this thing correctly.

@link666 Actually, according to someone on another board I frequent, the Legendary skill in this game was buffed drastically. Instead of setting the Base to 300, it sets the base power to 560.
https://d3esbfg30x759i.cloudfront.net/ss/WVW69jGwyGY6V52ExM

So the boost to a Lv. 3 5-Star with Legendary now is about : 560*0.50=280; 560+280= 840
I thought at least the structure of the weapons would be similar, because logic and reason dictate that they'd have kept the same structure when they ported it from the Wii U. But alas developers, like most of humanity, seem to be illogical and lazy.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

And now I'm trying to dump a more recent version of my save with saviine, and keep getting a "URL not found" error from saviine.

NO the weapon structure seems different but some thing remains the same,

Line 0008EC67 – Master Sword

0B 00 00 00 00 00 00 3D 01 2C 00 00 00 00 00 29 FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 00 00 61 A8 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

- 0B – unique value for the Master sword to use the Skill Evil bane instead of Legendary

- 01 2c – Base damage of weapon of 300. On 3ds the value is backward – 2c 01

- Weapon skill seem to use 4 bytes (See next example) - 00 00 00 29

- Note that id of Master sword is 3D is WiiU (I did not test but is the only weapon that match the master sword in hex value)

- Skill 29 is the same as the 3ds

- 00 00 61 A8 (I think it like that) is the locked number skill. On 3ds the value is backward – A8 61

Line 0008E29B – Magical Sword if the id is the same in 3ds

03 00 00 00 00 00 00 02 01 18 00 03 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 04 00 00 00 05 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 13 FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 07 D0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

- 03, Maybe set to 13 to be legendary, not sure because the base value is different for this game

- 01 18 is the weapon base value of 280

- 03 is the number of star

- Skill for this weapon (if the same as wiiu)

00 00 00 02 - Str Attack II+

00 00 00 04 - Str Attack IV+

00 00 00 05 - Str Attack V+

00 00 00 0A - Light+

00 00 00 13 - VS Undead

- I bet that the 6th skill is locked on 2000 ko

Note: I have the latest firmware on wiiU and never hacked it so I just use my observation and logic so I can’t help you more. I hope that I has been helpful.

So, after a longer wait-time for you, I finish the weapon Editor:D
A really nice feature on both, console and gui.^^ But I prefer the GUI version, because of an easier behavior to change weapon-skills and so on.

All new features of this weapon-editor itself can be read on the github page (and because it's really much, I won't write it also here xD).
And there it is: https://github.com/nedron92/HWL-SaveEditor/releases/tag/2.0
I updated also the Unlock-Feature of an character: If this chara has no weapon, a new default weapon is generate and set automatically (:
Because of this sh..-complexity of that feature, this is now a new-main version, V2.0.

The code is not well-documented yet, no time for this now, but (also for myself) I will change this, within the next two weeks.
Have fun and if there are any bugs/failures (I tesed well, but who knows ^^), please tell me, so that I can fix it.

That Magical Sword definitely seems familiar, unfortunately either you're wrong, or more likely, I fused it with something long ago, because that save is old. The evidence supports fusion, because my current save does have a Magical Sword with VS. Undead, which would be the only skill I would have kept from that weapon. Anyway, I strongly believe you're correct. Take a look at this. If we're both correct, then the weapon I deleted should be this on 3DS:
00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
00 00 50 00 02 00 1B 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 03

But on Wii U it is this:
03 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 50 00 02 00 00 00 1B FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

For reference, this is a Level 1 Hylian Sword (Knight's Sword) with a base power of 80, 2 stars, and only one slot containing Hearts+.

This should serve as a Rosetta Stone of sorts.

Edit: Here's a new template.
WT 00 00 00 00 00 ID ID BP BP ST ST S1 S1 S1 S1 S2 S2 S2 S2 S3 S3 S3 S3 S4 S4 S4 S4 S5 S5 S5 S5 S6 S6 S6 S6 S7 S7 S7 S7 S8 S8 S8 S8 K1 K1 K1 K1 K2 K2 K2 K2 K3 K3 K3 K3 K4 K4 K4 K4 K5 K5 K5 K5 K6 K6 K6 K6 K7 K7 K7 K7 K8 K8 K8 K8
PLEASE NOTE: The values are stored in Big Endian style, instead of in Little Endian like on the 3DS.

WT = Weapon Type
ID = Weapon ID
BP = Weapon Base Power
ST = Weapon Stars
S1 - S8 = Skill 1 - Skill 8
K1 - K8 = KOs to Unlock Skill 1 - Skill 8

@nedron92 Take a rest buddy. I'll get to work testing that new editor of yours. Now that we have the data structure for the weapons, it shouldn't take long to find the offsets for them, and the rest of the offsets shouldn't be too hard to find, either. Once we get all those, it shouldn't be too hard to tweak your editor to work for the Wii U version.

I used the save that you posted on page 40. Yes I confirm that the weapon on 3ds is the same as you describe.

I will xD, cause I have to learn at the weekend for exams. And don't know if it will be difficult or not...but I haven't a Wii U, so that is maybe an problem ^^. (I will buy one this year, cause of the new Zelda, but not now)

Ah also other news, I found something out today.
If you have a new Savegame (and unlocked the second stage and Adventure-Mode), set a fairy with my editor and start the game, you can't choose the MyFairy Option.
The offset for that is 0xD3 within the save. The new savegame had 0x80 (no option), the unlocking fairy option was 0xA0, but the 100% save had 0xE0 has a value for that offset.
mhm? But I couldn't see any differences. Also, 0x00 as value means, that you will be asking for activate Spotpass (within the start of the game), but all other (except MyFairy) was unlocked, like before.
Maybe someone can test them a bit (I hik, the hole menu-structure, what we can see/touch will be store there at the beginning).

Here's something odd. I believe it's a Tingle Balloon, but it's got the 13 at the beginning. If you notice, it has a 61 A8 for a 25,000 KO skill unlock, and I know I have a Tingle Balloon with a skill like that:
13 00 00 00 00 00 00 35 01 18 00 05 00 00 00 06 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 16 00 00 00 18 00 00 00 2A 00 00 00 00 FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 61 A8 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

Also, I believe this is an empty slot on Wii U:
00 00 00 00 FF FF FF FF 00 00 00 00 FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

so I've heard 3.3 and 3.4 NTR is the problem on o3ds. Does that mean 3.2 works?

If it does, I'll maintain an o3ds plugin too.

Question guys: How do I extract the savegame from the digital eshop version? Using 10.7 N3DSXL. Used svdt and Save Manager but the apps crash when I'm trying to extract the saves. Same thing that happened with FFE actually.

I just found on 3ds a weapon with legendary skill locked:

A8 61 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 21 00 50 00 01 00 2A FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 13

It's Ganondorf Great Swords, It's seem that you discovered that the 13 value is still here but will not apply the legendary base damage if is locked.

Thank you for your save editor, nadron92! But what's with the locks on the Legendary and Master sword skills now? When I apply the Legendary skill to a weapon,
it still says I have to open the Master Sword skills first and the Master Sword says that I have to collect all weapons first. Isn't there any way around this?
