I know some of you have gotten custom/imported songs working even when you already have purchased store DLC, right?

The only way I've gotten customs working so far is when I don't have any DLC store-bought songs in my save file or on my SD card. I want to be able to have both customs and real DLC working together!

Works in mine. Though I use an original RB2 disc.

Has anyone got this working with backups? At all?

Follow the Ultimate System Menu 4.0 Guide. You definitely need preloader, and probably bootmii as boot2 (if possible) to back up your NAND before you make changes. The CIOSCorp was the only method that worked for me.

2. Use SoftChip set to IOS 232 to load a burned version of RB2.

Rock Band 2 will be out in europe soon, that should have SDHC support out of the box. If not, then lets hope Rock Band Beattles supports DLC.

The DLC from Beatles RB will not import into RB1/2, as well as the other way around. I doubt they will have even close to 2gb of DLC for Beatles Rock Band. But still yes, it would be a nice feature.

I had tried that, but SoftChip kept giving me an Exception: Dl_ReadID message when it tried to read the backup disc. Running from the disc channel is more seamless anyway (no need to launch HBC).

How does this program handle mutli-part songs for FoF? When I go to make a custom song, there's only a spot to import 1 audio track. How can I get it to import all the song, guitar, bass, and drum tracks? (combining them into one track does not seem like a good alternative as it's kind of a step back from the RB feel)

the downfall is , i can't get it working

Specs:

cIOS 13a
using Softchip ( HBC version )
750Blocks free on Wii
RB2 - on Disc
GH-Aerosmith ( on HDD , Extracted it from HDD with WBFS Manager 3.0 )

Steps:
i patched the game with Patcher.
Ran Installer, waited for the message to plug the SD to pc.
.. so far so good ..

now i went to PC ran RAWKSD. i have the ISO of GH-Aerosmith. i ran the Extract for all the songs.
Imported it to the SD card, placed it into the Wii Clicked ok... says Custom is installed.
.. let me know if im doing a wrong step please

go back to HBC run Softchip on 248 ( its how i can play RB2 with instruments )
i can goto Practice Mode or Solo and actually see the songs there, but when i try to select it , it shows Loading.. then i get error " unable to restore to Wii Memeory " then i get bumped back to the song list..
ALSO i have tried doing these steps 3 times and im always stuck at the same point.

This issue still not resolved by anyone yet?

As a matter of fact, they have.

Why isn't Rawkboard announced in the first post? This app seems very good! Just one thing, why can't I see the score for the song creep for RB1? I've tried both IDs "creep" and [rb1]creep and couldn't get any score for any instrument! Is this normal? Or I just misunderstood what this app is supposed to do?

Anyway, both RawkSD and Rawkboard need a good site with a neat download section, clear tutorials and a news section. It would be better and more convenient that this forum IMO.
Oh and BTW, do you think it would be possible to make a Wii build of Rawkboard?

Hmm, weird. I can see the scores for Creep, you're number 9 Guitar, and number 1 bass.

Rawkboard needs to be finished before anything, and I don't know how to code for the Wii, so if it does happen, it's not coming from me.

You have to combine the tracks in Audacity and export them to OGG using the advance mixing option (see the tutorial for RB1 custom Mrk made a while ago)

Yeah I can see it too 1st on bass (not my best score I think it hasn't been refreshed yet); 9th on guitar and 1st on vocals! I have to get better at playing the Guitar ^^

i need some help i can't get my customs that i got to work the chart has an offset of 3000 ms and i stick that in when i create the song but when i go and play it the music just starts playing, can't get it to work can someone help me?

The best way for now is to just use regular characters until it gets fixed.

As for the gray at the beginning, I think that was done for a reason and cannot be changed.

You mean even your non-imported songs have lost the "special" characters? That's weird!

There is a way to get rid of those grey parts! But you would have to extract and re-import your RB1 songs manually!
The grey part is generated by the chart delay (3 secondes on a RB1 song) if you cut those 3 seconds off of the beginning of the audio file then don't use any chart delay, this will be fixed!

I've just gotten around to fixing the weird characters, it'll be in the next time I release a build. Though, to fix the official DLC characters, you'll have to download a song from the music store, then run the installer and use Update SD Save. Also re-import your discs if you want any fixed from there (Like RB1's Blue ?yster Cult).

The grey part is needed. I wouldn't suggest fixing it yourself unless you really care so much and want to sacrifice your ability to play other people online (btw there are always people ready to play imports on IRC

).

Agh! Stuck on step 1. I have my RB1 in the disc drive and the right SD card in the front slot. I run SuperDump, and I get errors for all benchmarks and dumpings! Any ideas?
