Rare details upcoming content updates for Sea of Thieves
Sea of Thieves launched nearly a month ago, and despite becoming one of Microsoft's fastest selling games, there were many complaints that stemmed from the perceived lack of content that the game had. Critics and fans alike found that the game didn't have much to do, and the playerbase began to slowly dwindle. Following that, it appears that Rare is eventually planning on adding more content to Sea of Thieves in the coming months. The company gave a light outline of their plans, and mentioned that this April, they'll be focusing on bigfixes and feedback from players. Then, in May, Sea of Thieves will be getting its first content update in the form of "The Hungering Deep", which will add a new AI enemy to the world. More rewards and new gameplay mechanics are also scheduled to be added, as well as recurring weekly events, which are meant to keep players coming back to experience "new ways to play the game".
Also described were two new other content updates, which consists of "Cursed Sails", which will introduce a new ship, and "Forsaken Shores", which will add new exploreable areas to the map. Rare maintains that they do not wish to split their playerbase, so any and all future gameplay content updates will be free.
