went to shopping the other day, i remembered i needed a sata cable to connect a hdd i have on storage.
did go to computer accessories.
lots of cables etc
only 1 row of sata cables (1 brand, don't remember which one)
10 euros for a cable. :angry:
gone to ebay, found pack of several for 1 euro. wonder why retail is still a thing :angry:
then amazon, can see listings for 0.01$ find it too cheap to be truth, but still...

If you look on the amazon listings it is probably 0.01 + $3 shipping (most places do not take a cut of shipping and handling, to say nothing of Amazon ignoring shipping when it prices cheapest first).

Anyway it sounds like you have encountered real world tax/need tax. Everybody sensible knows you can do better online but if it gets to 3pm on a Saturday and you just need the one lead to get it all up and running and would rather not have to be home to take delivery of something tomorrow (or Monday, possibly even Tuesday by the time the seller pops it in the post on Monday) then people will tend to pay the extra.
