whatup yall. tried to randomize my copy of sun this morning, everything seems normal (patches load when i'm in the game) but when i tried to save (i had started a new game/had no save data prior to this attempt at saving) it crashes, telling me "an unknown error has occurred." when i reboot the 3ds and go back into sun, it tells me the save data is corrupted. what am i doing wrong??? is it because i'm using a file without a save?

Are you using SaltySD? If so, it will load the save game from your sd card "\SaltySD\sunmoon\main". Delete this file and the one of the game and create a new one.

yup, same thing happened to me. It's an issue with SaltySD i believe, every time I untick "use game patches" on start up, it allows me to actually delete the corrupted file. Could it be that the game is reading 2 save files? one from the main, and one from SaltySD folder?

not sure about ^^^ yours but my problem was solved by replacing the "main" in /saltysd/sunmoon with a main from a jksm export, hope that helps :^)
