Hacking r4isdhc v1.43

Hello all
just got this r4i card and it tells me to upgrade the hardware like what the title saids after i installed the r4i v1.56b in it and formatted with panasonic formatter.
i also tried the wood r4 v1.44 and jsut gave me the :menu?" any help is greatly appreciated.

basically speaking, what file do i need to get the r4i running on ds lite?

sorry if this has been discussed in the past but i can't seem to find the exact issue.
