Hi!

I'm very new to this thing. I have no idea how to do modding or homebrewing, this was a gift to me like 4 years ago and did have some issues like certain games not launching but never quite bothered with it. But I had been playing in Pokemon platinum but suddenly had some sort of bug where the screen just froze but the music did play while just traveling the map, I got out of the game and tried to re-enter after a bit but it keeps getting stuck in the white screen of the beginning, tried turning off cheats (I stated to use these just a few days before it since I had never played around with them besides HGSS where I've been having no issue) and the whole thingy about turning off DMA and Softreset if met with the white screen. I dunno what to do, been looking online but I'm not sure what exactly is wrong with it. I'm using it with a cartage I believe, it says "R4 3DS UPGRADE SDHC Revolution for 3DS XL/LL DSL DS RTS LITE Real Time Save" it had a little 2020 on the side. Also has a .com website on the bottom r4isdhc which I've visited but have no clear instructions on what to do

The closest I know to modding it's me barely managing to install Bluestacks to play a damn game my phone no longer can run due to limitations. Treat me like I'm 5 years old or 80, I understand english but not the whole process of how is this done

Hi lad. What do you mean by hacked DS? What console are you talking about? DS phat, DS Lite, DSi? In any case, you mentioned a flashcard, so I assume you're not playing from the SD slot of a DSi or 3DS. First, you should play it without cheats enabled and see if that works properly. Or maybe this title requires an anti-piracy patch, and your flashcard's database isn't up to date. Try searching online for more up-to-date software for your specific card, or just replace its database with a more up-to-date one.

I just looked it up, I think I have a 2DS XL. I took out the flashcard again and just noticed I also have a micro SD but I don't believe it's the one with the games since the larger flashcard also has one inserted. I already disabled cheats but still, no luck. I don't know how to update it, is there any site or guide you'd recommend and does it really need to be moved around in a computer/laptop? I'm very sorry if any of this is obvious, I'm just not sure what to do and don't want to accidentally fuck up the console or the card.

You mean, you want to play DS games using flashcard in your 2DS? Which flashcard is it? Also, since it was a hacked 3ds, just use nds forwarder and twilight menu++ instead of flashcard.

Tip: Post photo's of your flashcard and screen when you do stuff (this saves a lot of questions)...
It might be just a faulty sd-card.

Another tip: If it's a 2ds xl, install custum firmware and twlight menu, but only if you think you're up for it after reading the instructions (https://3ds.hacks.guide/ and something like https://wiki.ds-homebrew.com/twilightmenu/)

First, determine whether the game is on the flashcard (its micro-SD card) or on the micro-SD card (and its adapter) found in the camera's slot. If the former, you should search online for the latest firmware for that exact version of that cartridge. If the latter (if you're using TwilightMenu on an SD card) you could copy that game to the flashcard and see if it runs smoothly there; if so, you'll have solved the problem. You don't need a PC to copy, delete and move ROMs; you can do it all from your smartphone and read the microSD card in its slot, or via a micro-USB (or Type-C) port and micro-SD adapter (they're very cheap and very useful for NDS console enthusiasts).
