Hacking R4i SDHC slowness issues

Here's the problem. I use a R4i SDHC (the red one that comes from www.r4isdhc.com , the third one on that list - http://www.r4isdhc.com/r4-download/ ) on my DSi XL (ver. 1.4.3E), and while it runs without major problems, I notice several slowdowns on any game (the major offender being Etrian Odyssey III, with a one-second lag every time I enter a battle or I access the menu or a shop, but it's far from being the only one). Those slowdowns manifested themselves when I updated my firmware so that R4 could be used on my DSi XL, so I guess the problem comes from there.

Is that normal for said R4i to have such slowdowns ? And if not, how can I correct that problem ? And will correcting said problem will still allow that R4 to be used on my DSi XL ?

Well i would recommend that you update your DSI XL,the firmware of the card and format your Micro SD.

If you're going to do the above, update the firmware of your cart first.

What MicroSD do you have? Try using the Panasonic Formatter on it (after backing up your data).

Problem solved, and it was something stupid... Like, REALLY stupid.

The Micro SD inside was a Micro SD, and not a Micro SDHC.
