Hacking R4 SDHC

not too familiar w/ it, has anyone tried it and worked for them?

It does work for all the games I have tried but there were sparse reports of a few that it didn't work with. Don't know which those were. My bet is that it should work just fine now though. 1.12 is going to be nice because I think they were finally supposed to fix the ARM7 issue.

I have no need for SDHC support as 2 GB is more than enough for me. As long as they don't drop support for the "old" R4's, I'll be happy...

ARM7 will hopefully be fixed in the new kernel, that's basically all I want.

Same as some people said, I honestly don't care about capability to work with the higher memory cards. :\ And besides, wasn't this announced earlier anyway?

I only use my 4GB SDHC for media, and I currently have the whole Fullmetal Alchemist anime (which is about 3GB) and about 700MB of music. I only keep it in my M3 Lite, so R4 compatibility isn't a problem. If I ever need more than 2GB of DS games, that's what the Cyclo I'm getting whenever they ship is for

A game that big will lag like no tomorrow. It's not a smart idea to do that. SDHC would be nice only if you have tons of stuff on your R4, otherwise, no point.

Meh. I have a 512mb sd card and it works fine for my purposes. I only need a few games on there at a time, any more and I wouldn't concentrate on finishing the ones I've got.

My R4 works really well for what I want it too. Would be nice if they could fix the arm7 problem but I don't really need it to play the games.

I'd only buy the new R4 cart when SDHC card prices are really low. I use my R4 for media purposes aswell not just gaming, so this is quite good for me and 2gb is not enough. I hope they keep up with the old R4 updates aswell for the time being.

Instead of going for R4 with SDHC support (which I honestly don't care about, but I sold my R4 a while ago, so I need a new card), I'll probably just go for CycloDS.

i ordered mine two days ago

i honestly couldn't be stuffed waiting for the black (or any for that matter) cyclo so decided to go ahead with the R4. i have a 2gb card anyway so no big deal for me. i will be replacing it with a cyclo as soon as they sort out the next batch though.
