Hacking R4 DS skins

Here are my squirrel skins. This is my 2nd attempt.

Here's my first attempt at an R4 skin...my R4 should be arriving sometime this week so this has yet to be tested. If someone wants to test it though, send me a PM and I'll zip the images.

edit: I also like how you used different backgrounds for the main page and filelist, very... cool.

Actually, perhaps you could help me. I don't have my R4 yet, so i am not entirely positive as to what is required to skin the R4 GUI. To my knowledge, the images simply need to be .bmp so if thats the case, i am set. Send me a PM if you have the R4 and perhaps we can test it out

BTW: egj, your icons are not aligned correctly because you are using an inaccurate template, try using Katalyst's templates. they're spot on. I was using the same one you are using untill i found out that they're not accurate.

That's an excellent skin, egj. As was said earlier, it's clean and minimalistic--as a result, it's also highly usable and immensely superior to skins with "busy" backgrounds. Can't wait for my (and your) R4 to arrive so that I can give it a look. Really well done skin, I hope you keep up the good work.

Here is a test skin for something plain and simple. Thanks to Katalyst for pointing me in the direction for the lettering and to hmvh1 for the icons. All I really did was put it all together.

you can change the background of the icons from blue to red (or any colour) - if you are using photoshop create a new layer fill it with the desired colour over the blue circle, feather the edges of the circle, and under the layer options change it to "darken".

Here's the download, i believe the right icon was said to be off by a hair, but i can't see it (it was late when i put this together). Anyway, enjoy
