still can't find my themes mate ???

i've loaded them on to my desktop in a folder but can't access it from the skins link ?

You have to use the file browser to go to the desktop folder in Documents and Settings etc. The file list box on the right hand side of the SkinR4 window displays rar/zip/7z and skin files. Click on one and it'll show you a preview.

Finally got around to checking out the latest version

I'm not sure whether this is going to be a user error, or if I've found a sweet(not really) bug

Starting from a brand new install, if I drag 10+ roms onto the library builder it'll unpack a couple, and then eventually stall out on the 3rd or 4th file, and return a "file not found" error. this is usually at the renaming stage

is this indicative of not being able to find the rom in the release list? or just a bug?

Hello TrolleyDave!

I just looked into your newest version (2.16beta2) ... I am afraid that there is still a renaming error. When I rename one file (the first one in my release list), everything works fine. But when renaming the second file, which was formerly the second one, results in renaming the second file, witch was originaly the third one. Nothing works, not even closing the app and starting new
frown.gif

This happens when the list is sorted by File Name.
Sorting by Game Name and trying to rename results in an "List index out of bounds (-1)" error.
Only when sorted by Archive Name - it works.

Will try and get em fixed before the weekend.

I haven't got a clue what's happened there. It sounds like a similar problem from a few updates ago but it's definitely fixed in the new one. I'll look into over the next couple of days. Did it pop up the building index window straight away, like before you did anything else?

Sorry for the very late answer. Yes, it did pop up before i could do anything, but like i said, no problem since then, it works perfectly.
Maybe a very rare (or unique) case where the problem happens.

Weird one but at least it's working now. Thanks for getting back to me about it.

If everybody uses the Check For Upgrade option from the Utils drop down menu I've put 2.16beta4 on the server. It fixes a problem with downloading boxarts 2100-2200 and the Game Library rename function. There's also the basics of the GBA game library in there. I've only added release 1 to 900, I'll add more as I get time.

I'm kinda new at playing with the .dat release lists and rom-renamers etc. but I'm pretty familiar with .nds and .gba files etc. I DL and installed your R4 Commander v2.16 beta 4. (I basically want something to go through all my nds and gba files and tell me what files I'm missing)

I see how to do this with the .nds files but I don't see or understand on how to do this with my gba files, I don't see how or where to swich the release list from nds to gba.. Thanks for your time.

Hey, TrolleyDave, thanks for the great program!
wub.gif

I have a question about the homebrew library. If I try to open the library it tells me I currently have no homebrew installed. Am I supposed to have a folder inside the R4 commander folder with my homebrew, or is it looking on my MicroSD card for a certain folder? Somewhere else? I feel somewhat incompetent right now as I am not an unintelligent person. I actually came searching for help with this issue and another question. I was going to ask if you could add support for the CycloDS Evolution, but you seem to have a bad experience with supporting other cards

With the homebrew library you have to drop .EZC packs into the main window for them to be added, like you do with a rom. You can find all of them on my blog. Once they're dropped into the window it'll copy them to the folder it uses for the homebrew library (PACKS.LIB in the R4 Commander folder) and you can delete the one you dropped in if you want.

I don't mind adding support for the CycloDS, I don't actually know how the cart works though. Is it similar to the R4 where you have to copy the firmware onto the root? The homebrew library packs are all pre-patched for the R4 but the Cyclo has auto-dldi patching so it should automatically repatch them to the Cyclo. If it doesn't then let me know and I'll create some Cyclo packs for you.

You're the best, thanks for telling me. The Evolution stores its firmware on re-writable flash memory on the cart. When you update the firmware, you get an update.evo file, that's all. You drop the update.evo into your root and when you boot the Evolution it flashes it to the cart, deletes the file, and shuts down. Pretty darn simple. The Evolution does indeed auto-DLDI patch, in fact, it was the first cart to do so. I was wondering if you could add the ability to add/remove skins via the commander? I have a visual for you:
Evolutionskinstructure.png

Basically you make a folder inside X:/CycloDS/skins for each skin you have and drop the files into them. If there's anything I didn't elaborate on enough, or if there's something else you might need to know, please ask.

No it wasn't. The N Card and its clones were the first ones to have auto patchibg DLDI. The Evo came out after all that happened. The Evo was the first cart to have full download play support.

Thank you Dave for this great app. I just started using it myself(I know, you created it along time ago), and it'll always be on computer now.

I'm with euphemism, if you can add support for the Evo, then that would be great. The R4 and Evo has some similarities, so I hope it won't be too difficult to add.
