Hacking Questions on Pokemon X 1.2 Update

Hi there, I have a question here.. I missed out the pokemon 1.2 update during the 7.x firmware and now the latest firmware is 8.x. Let's say if someone using gateway copy the updated version of pokemon rom(1.2) and I use it to play will it work? Thanks!

I don't think it updates the ROM, just the ticket on the 3DS so no idea how you would extract it.
