Hardware Questions about American 3DS XL (I'm planning to get one.)

Hey guys,

I am planning to buy a 3DS XL on my trip to the U.S.
As this is my 3DS I'd like to confirm a couple of things:

1. Will the Acekard 2i work on a 3DS XL (as I already have one)
2. and will I be able to access/download the game demos and 3DS videos even if I'm not in the U.S.

Not sure about the first, but as for the second, yes, you can access everything and download whatever you want except use that video application (I don't remember its name). But one drawback, the American eShop have this annoying thing that doesn't accept your credit card, I think. My uncle had trouble adding funds to it with his credit card and he had to switch to the Brazilian eShop. /Is not good at explaining *grumbles*

If you buy a new 3DS XL, no. The Acekard will not work on the couple most recent firmware updates (they stopped updating for the 3DS ~8 months ago). The Acekard is considered dead on the DSi/3DS and is not a recommended cart anymore.

So tell me if I'm understanding correctly:
Only the R4i Gold and Supercard can play DS/DSi games on a 3DS [XL]
and nothing can play 3DS games.

Nothing plays 3DS games.

And the Acekard stopped getting updates, so it doesn't work on newer systems/updates.

There's other flash carts that still work, but they're shit clones and/or lack support and you shouldn't even consider them. If you buy a clone, we will just laugh at you and tell you to buy one of the suggested carts if you come back with a problem.

Just one last question:
What site would be best to import American [3DS] games?
There are plenty of Ebay sellers but they are based in Hong Kong, does anyone have experience ordering from these sellers?

I would not go though any chinese sellers, maybe try amazon.
