Hacking Question: Gateway saving on MH4U

Hi guys, i've played mh4u on my gateway and it just crashed. My save game had rollbacked about 10 hours back =/ i don't think i will get it back but it's alright.
So, the question is.. How do i make sure it will save properly next time? Do i have to exit the game for it to save? Thanks for the help

Were those 10 hours of progress a consecutive, single play session from your part?

Did it crash while saving?

Did you save while playing? (no idea if there is an auto-save) In my experience I've never had to go back to the main menu in order keep my save.

i believed i saved continuously without exiting the game so i guess it could be considered a single play session. it crashed while i was selecting a quest.
