Just wanted to check if i can get banned if i never connected my switch to any eshop account. In fact i dont even have a Nintendo account... but i want to update and i dont want to restore my nand as i had a bad experience (purple screen brick) and ultimately had to return it to get a new one. I know i can use ChoiDujourNX but i want to be able to boot to vanilla just couse.

Im not too worried of being banned (since i never will play online)

So my question is, if i never had any account on my switch and dont even have one, how can they connect to my switch?

Just wondering, as i will never restore my nand again (past the 30day return policy)

Sorry for the noob question, tried researching here but got nothing.

Appreciate the serious answers

For a more in depth answer, connecting an account has nothing to do with being banned. In pretty much every ban so far, it's the console that gets banned, not the account. The console has a cert that is a unique identifier, and that is what gets banned.
And even without an account connected, the switch still sends info to nintendo servers.
