Hacking Homebrew question about Unlauncher and DSI

I've been modding a Japanese dsi I got and got the twilight menu ++ on it, but when I got to the Unlauncher part and noticed it's on 1.4 J and I can't connect to the internet to update it to 1.4.2 J, is there anything I can do or am I mostly just locked out of Unlauncher

You are mistaken..
DSi Guide has recently been using "safe" unlaunch installer, cannot be used in 1.4.2J (needs to be upgraded to 1.4.5J).
Your DSi is 1.4J and can be installed unlaunch directly.

I mean you just need to use the “safe” unlaunch installer directly.

It's not an 'unsafe update', it's just that for some reasons this program cannot run on this version.
I'm not very clear on the details, you can ask the author.
